lee-kinsman
Week 17, developing steadiness. Last week you saw the pup introduced to double retrieves and steadiness with dummies thrown to the left and right whilst sat up. She has done well this week without error and so we can now take steadiness a step further with a dummy thrown over her head for a simple marked retrieve. Hope you enjoy and it's useful to someone. ips
Brilliant stuff lee. Said it before I love your relationship with her, she loves you to bits. My three year old cocker will not sit for one over the head she stands and turns she does not run in though. Not sure if I should be concerned about it. She has always done it and it has not escalated to run ins. I haven't been able to get her to stay sat . Any thoughts. Ps I like the idea of your little helper but it looks hard work 😁

Steady is basically not running in so it sounds like you've got it with your cocker 👍🏿
ips
Thanks lee that's what I thought but was just checking 😁 I am not trialling her and she is steady when working and on dummies. She enjoys the three card trick a great deal and rarely goes for the wrong one and if she does I can stop her on the whistle and re direct her the only fault if you can call it that is the standing and turning for one over her head. Thanks for input I wont worry about it then Cheers Ian
darren 67
Me personaly I wouldn't worry about her turning around as long as she wasn't running in. All she's doing is marking for the retrieve in my mind but each to their own. All will have different expectations.
