as per title , i went over to priory clay target club today for a spot of practice with my new ( 3 week old ) dt11 Trap , bumped into Steve ( smokersmith ) and had a go at some ABT with Steve , his father and mate , its the first time ive tried this gun on ABT as i wanted a couple of weeks to settle in with it , and over all I was very happy with the results , any one that has shot the ABT at priory will no doubt testify its NOT for the faint hearted haha ,

anyway when we was done , I wanted to go and pattern my gun , the stock was done at the factory to the measurements I required , but I just wanted to see what was actually happening on paper , just to see if the extra money was well spent ,

the distance was 30m or 32 yrds

shells where Hull comp X 28 gram plaswad in size 7.5

gun was a Beretta DT11 fixed choke Trap 3/4 and full

the test shots where NOT aimed / rifled as to me shots done in that way will tell you nowt , the way I do it is stand at your desired distance ( in my case 30m / 32yrd ) look straight at your mark on pattern plate , and without taking your eye of your mark just put the gun in your shoulder in one quick smooth movement as if you was actually shooting a target , BANG and then gun down , then repeat using the same method for other barrel , this way it tells me if the gun is shooting where I'm looking NOT where I'm pointing , if the gun is fitted properly the shot should go where your looking ,

first pic bottom barrel 3/4 choke the circle is 30 "

anyway was very happy with results and fitting ,

PS cheers Steve for the Paper used in my test .

Well centred and very tight. Bottom does shoot a tad high but for tarp it's ideal. Take it by the patterns you straighten the abt?

no mate shot a 21/25 for a first go ( same as smokersmith ) , then had another go and 22/25 but trust me when I say these are some very mean targets , the ground is owned by Aron Heading who is an Olympic Trap commonwealth games gold/silver winner and is about the best in the country at the moment , he set it up and uses it for his training , its wicked good mate !!!

in fact to quote smokersmith " Its ABT on Acid " haha

I was in patterning mode too ... below is from a Fiocchi Golden Trap at 35 yards ex a 1/2 factory CG choke. 35 yards circle is again 30" ... with 315 ex. circa 340 pellets in the ring it feels tight enough for 1st barrel trap.
