Oly
Havent been able to get hold of any yet B) , but supposed to be very good. Read that in the US they are dropping coyotes with body shots using these rounds at some pretty reasonable distances. B)

Pigeonbasher2
Please can we have a level of humanity here. If your quarry is a Fox, why not match your ballistics to the quarry and remain humane ? .22lr subsonic at aything over 50yds with a shot placed outside the killing area (Heart-Lungs) will invariably lead to a delayed and painful death. A hollow-point aids the .22lr's killing ability. None of the comments shown on this topic mention distance. Shooting Coyote in the body at anything under 50 metres and hitting it outside the killing area will lead to a maiming, our sport should not condone this type of irresponsible shooting. Of course there are people that can kill a fox at 100yds with a .22lr, like the sniper mentioned in this forum, it takes practice on the range to have the capability to group a .22lr (Sub or HV) inside 2inches at 100yds and know where to place the shot, do you have that ability ? Head shots are a no-no too, .22lr's can skid off the skull bone. More maiming ! Is this what we want from our hunters in the UK ? If you wish to go after foxes with a rifle, consider something that can deliver the animals final moment with some humanity. 22-250 or something up .243 cal would be the thing to use. Don't forget to practice until you can do good quality tight killing groups. PB2
CharlieT
Winchester I to totally agree. I am sick to death of those that have acquired a .22rf and seem to think they have some sort of high power rifle. These fantastic little rifles are great for small quarry but please leave the foxing to those with the proper tool. Except in special circumstances .22rf is not a fox round no matter what ammo you shove in it. Charlie
njc110381
I have a friend that shoots lots of foxes with his .22lr. He uses subsonic ammo, although I don't remember the make. As far as I'm aware he doesn't have problems with runners, but one thing I do know is he stalks them into what he calls "easy air rifle range". That to me means 40 yards max
