gibby
Have got a worn barrel on my 10/22, blueing faded in a few places. I was wondering whether i can do anything to it, spray it? Regards Gibby
Peter_HMR
Yep but it will come off unless you get something specialised due to the heat.
gibby
Thanks. Anyone tried it? What to use? Gibby
humperdingle
You can get a heat-resistant paint in a spray by Plasti-Kote (B&Q, Homebase etc) which is designed for woodstoves (matt I think) and one for BBQs. Both are only available in black I think (Handy!). You'd be best to remove the blueing first i'd imagine, which is dead easy with something like Birchwood Casey Blue Remover. I've never tried these paints before, so might not be so good on a gun barrel. Or you can get a reblueing kit for about £15.
