Robyray
are dies matched as a pair ? I was given 2 dies last week for a 223 rem and they where both purchased in separate boxes by the last owner ?, so when you see them sold as a set in the green box, are they matched in the factory or is this bull ****, I have always thought that the dies are not matched unless they are for a custom type calibre etc thanks Roby Edited September 12, 2017 by Robyray
Graham M
As far as I am aware the factory make thousands of dies and then packs them into boxes......how would they be able to match them unless they were made individually for each box??? Jaymo
cheers G the guy who sold them to my mate tried to say they where a matched pair. Roby He was right- they are matched-- matched in calibre, that's all :-) Neck sizing only I buy singularly, but when I buy a seating and full length they come in the box together- just the way it is and I'm sure they don't ' match/grade' them
rem708
How can you have matched dies - They do completely different jobs! You may have 'match' dies i.e. supposedly more accurately made and have much finer adjustment mechanism but I can't see how matched and dies can be words collectively to describe dies. If you said who the dies were made by the green box maybe more significant. Have to say I agree with everyone on here - dies are mass produced so unless its a custom calibre then just get on an use them and don't worry about the 'matched' aspect. ps good calibre to reload - been doing this for some 40 years
