Will Beasley
hi guys am going to replace my home made hide poles anybody know who is the cheapest for a set and which would be the most robust? thanks "Cheap" and "robust" in the same sentence. Cor.... you dont want much do ya? Buy OUR ones of course!! And if you manage to bust ours they are easily fixable. Just chop of the bent part of the tube, re drill a hole and screw the spike and kicker plate back in.

shootingmike
After getting fed up with carrying heavy washing line props, I went to a Sunday market and bought four fishing rod rests. They're alluminium, have a spike on the end and when extended are about four feet high which is plenty when sat down. Strong, light and I paid about 2.50 each for them (they're more in fishing shops buts still only a fiver each i think)

My PINEWOOD set cost £38.00, I think you will find the need to keep replacing your 'cheap' rod rests each year, maybe more frequently, especially if you go pigeoning twice a week or more! A purpose made set of poles will pay you back on the first outing. Cheers, CB:~}
dazzyboi
Iv got 4 electric fence poles which are ok, but because they have quite a few notches going up the net tends to get caught up, you can always tape it up with green tape though and just have 2 notches, 1 at the top, and one at the bottom. They were only £2.50 each and have a spike and a kickplate at the bottom.
