vole
I was just getting familiar with my new semi auto.First 25 clays, killed 21.The next 25....am to embarressed to say.Needless to say i was a bit more self conscious when i started shooting badly, but the difference was massive.Do other shooters go from good to awful within minutes? Peter_HMR
Yep especially with a new gun you need to develop muscle memory and get your eye in with it i find dry mounting at home in front of a mirror (sad i know) helps a good bit. You just need to practice when you "get your eye in" you will start hitting them and after a while it will just come natural main thing is not to try to hard have fun works for me. Peter_HMR
Thats what im told by those in the know after doing something repeatedly your muscles automaticaly will get used to doing it so practicing will ensure a perfect gun mount later on which will do a lot to help your shotgun shooting. Although i dont shoot much shotgun myself more of a rifle man but maybe someone could confirm just in case i'm talking out of my **** Peter. humperdingle
Practice DOES make a big difference - On my first couple of outings at the clay ground, I'd shoot 100 carts and my left triceps would ache the next day having supported most of the weight of the shotgun. Now, I get absolutely no fatigue at all, and regularly shoot 100-150 carts on a weekend.
