steve_b_wales
After seeing a rifle sling that was advertised on bestfoxcall.co.uk, it reminded me of a similar one that I made ages ago. Basically, I made an extension sling that fitted to the rifle stock and to the exisiting sling. This enabled the rifle to be carried securely on my shoulder without it slipping or falling off. Moving forward, I contacted my good friend mel b3 to see if his wife Lin, could improve on my basic one that was glued together. Needless to say, Lin came up trumps again, and sent me her version for me to test. I fitted it to my rifle, which, with extras added to it, comes in at 6kg. I've always had trouble when carrying this rifle, as it tended to slip off my shoulder or tilt, so that the barrel ended up facing horizontal. I fitted the new sling yesterday and tested it up on the farm. I did some walking and also climbing over gates/walls etc, and the rifle stayed put. It didn't slip or move off my shoulder once. It's easy to fit. The elasticated end attaches to the rifle stock, and the other end attaches to the rifle sling. Its fitted by means of press fasteners, and there's the option of fitting to a wide or narrow sling. The 'stock' end goes around your back and across your chest, or lower, and clips onto the 'sling' end. The two halves then clip together, and it can be adjusted to increase/decrease in length to suit. Another good thing about this is that it can, if required, allow you to carry a rifle safely on your shoulder, and also use a shotgun. It can be fitted and removed in a matter of minutes. I have added some photo's which to be honest, don't do it justice, but should give you an idea how it works. I can highly recommend this sling attachment and any enquiries as to cost etc should be directed to Mel.
mel b3
hiya steve , thank you for the idea , thank you for testing it out mate , and thank you for the review. i was hoping to do a little more testing and get a few more pics over the weekend , it certainly seems to work better than i could have ever imagined for something so simple. im guessing that like me , other shooters would like to be able to carry a shotgun and rifle at the same time , so this might prove to be a very nice addition to the product line. ill try to get a few pics of it in the field , and report back. thankyou again steve.
