CARBINE
What should I buy? It will be new, most likely in beech, and to be used for rabbits mainly. Please tell me why. Pete hi roland 75, I have a .22 s410k and find it perfect for all vermin you can shoot with an air rifle, after getting used to distance and wind I am spot on with it 99% of the time and I won`t be bothering with .177, the heavier .22 must be better for the side winds but Im sure the .177 will have other advantages as well.Which ever you get you will get used to it and you won`t go far wrong with a s410-----good luck and enjoy---col
ShaggyRS6
Have a look here. http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...showtopic=36946 These were all done with a .177. I think the pro's and cons are summed up in the 3rd picture. The top bunny in the 3rd piccy was taken at 55 yards, however, I did need the wind to stop blowing to achive it. So thats with a sub 12ft/lb s410 in .177. That is some fine shooting. From the pics I guess they dropped instantly. I will be definately going .177, now just have to decide beech/walnut, silencer, and scope! Cheers Pete

ShaggyRS6
Sub 12 yes, not a 410, its the X3 in my sig. They all dropped instantly. Curiously enough the 55 yarder did'nt even twitch. Dunno why that is, perhaps something to do with the energy it has accumilated over that distance? Perhaps someone can answer that.

rowland75
Your not wrong Mark I just wish there was a definitive guide to say you need this caliber, in this stock, in this lenght, with this silencer, and this scope! I know what I want it for but the finer details are proving tricky Pete
