roadkill
My scope id 45mm and the camera is 38mm, will a 45mm-38mm reducer radiator hose do the job or will this reduction effect the view i get from the camera? Cheers Jamie
bear-uk
I used a hose in the early days and it worked fine. Seem to think about 2" gap was required between the glass.
Dave-G
It should do fine but I'd recommend you significantly raise the eyebell diameter with tape or similar and, if you must use silly con tube, make it larger than the ocular adjuster so it doesn't mess up your crosshair focus as you push/twist it on. Most people with budget hose type night vision rigs get badly advised to wind in the ocular tight so its stable - but that means you need to wind it out again for daylight and lamping focus... all that too-ing and fro-ing cannot be good for the scope nor the user. Now call me pedantic but each time you wind the ocular in, the nitrogen dry nitrogen filled air pressure inside the scope slightly increases and can find its way out over a period of time: And each time you wind it back out less dry air could migrate in. Over the course of a year it could make a difference, particularly if the rifle gets moved in an out of a warm car several times on cold damp nights when night vision is used. There are better less field faff ways to mount camera's but they cost more. I'm sure there are people who 3D print better adaptors for 38mm cameras. (I only make them for 30mm square camera's BTW)
