iPod connection for the car

A question for you techies out there.

I have an iPod but my wifes car (RAV4) doesnt have an ipod connection.

I have tried the iTrip transmitter connection and it drove me mad - kept on having to change radio frequency. I then went for a cassette on a wire type connection - again drove me mad, the cassette player keeps changing direction and the volume goes up and down.

My question is - if I go to my local car audio boy racer ice shop place, can they fit an after market ipod jack pin connection. I heard you could do it thru the aerial or maybe by using the CD changer connection.

Cheers

I had an iTrip, ****. Had an ipod cradle and fitted in the glove box, its controlled by my current Audi head unit. My wife has the same, ipod in armrest and controlled from her VW stereo. Any good stereo place should be able to fit one for about £150

Any ideas who makes it or where on the net to look.

Cheers for that. I will order one tomorrow.

Does it mean she wont be able to use the CD changer or can you use both ipod aux and CD changer once fitted ?

if you have a cd changer fitted then you would loose the use of it, however if it dosent then you can use the built in cd player (in the dash) and the mp3 aux input also (comes up as cd changer on stereo)

what we have is a "cassette" with a lead out the back of it you plug the ipod to this. The quality is very good, and it cost less than a fiver from Hong Kong.

I already have one of those but the cassette keeps changing direction with it. Very annoying.
