a-train
While I was in America I bought a roll of Realtree camo vinyl wrap designed for applying to firearms (from these guys in case you're interested: http://www.mossyoakgraphics.com) Can anyone please recommend to me a gunsmith that can strip down the gun and apply the wrap to it? I know people say that you can apply a wrap yourself but there is bit of skill and experience needed to do it neatly, plus to get a good finish on anything (e.g. cars) it needs to be completely dismantled and de-greased before cutting and applying the wrap. This is not something that I am confident to tackle myself - plus I want the gun to look really good when it has been finished! There are plenty of companies out there that specialise in applying vinyl wraps but mostly to vehicles and electrical appliances. I have been unable to find someone that is both a gunsmith and an expert in cutting and fitting camo wraps onto guns. I live in East Anglia, but am very happy get the gun couriered anywhere in the country to get the right person to do the job. Any suggestions very gratefully received and thanks for looking! figgy
Why do you need a gunsmith to do it? You will be very lucky to find one good at vinyl wrapping. Strip it down to the parts you want to wrap take it to a place that's good at wrapping cars etc and ask them to wrap it while your there in presence of the parts. Jason_ox
For the price you’ll pay someone to dismantle and wrap your gun you may want to have a think about hydro graphics. http://www.hydro-graphics.co.uk/ unless you don’t want a permanent graphic then good luck finding someone. Grange1905
Its rather fiddly but doable by anyone with a bit of patience. If you wanted to wrap the whole gun, like every bit of it, it's probably a better idea to either dip it as suggested by Jason or just to buy a camo version of the gun. I've done an AA S300 and AA S410 air rifle myself previously for the fun of it (love fiddly jobs), to the extent of the barrel, moderator, air tank and scope, but couldn't be bothered with mounts, action or the stock.
