The Sniper
Here are the pictures, at last. It took me a long time to figure out how to get them on here, today. Thanks, Cranfield. This is me practising before the tournament. I came third in the Intermediate Divison of the knives ( out of 20 throwers ). Only two others went into the Expert Division. Then I came third overall in the tomahawks ( Out of 18 throwers ) I was really pleased with my performance, as last year I came 12th in the knives and was unplaced in the Hawks. Here we have an impalement act by my freind, Jack Dagger. Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo of the finale of his act where he sliced through a cucmber resting on the girls' arm. While I was there I was taught impalemnt throwing, without incident !! Another example of Jack's skill with fireknives. At the end of the holiday my friend, Joe Darrah, who I stayed with, made me a set of throwing knives. Without Joe I would not have been able to see a lot of the real Philadelphia and New York. The whole holiday involved knife throwing, tomahawk throwing, blowguns, whipcracking, sightseeing and also firing some handguns including a .50 Desert Eagle. Awesome. Definitely a holiday to remember.
Cranfield
Great pictures, thanks for that. So they call throwing knives around real people, "impalement throwing" ? I would have thought that was what they were trying to avoid. Did you have any problems getting the knives home ? My wife had to take some nail scissors out of her make-up bag on our recent flight to the US.

The Sniper
Thanks Mark. I can assure you it was my pleasure ! Cranfield , Before I left I thoroughly checked myself and hand luggage to make sure I was clean of any knives etc. I brought back about 20 knives and 6 tomahawks ( all legal over here ) in my hold luggage. No problem. Well, there was one. I brought back so many new knives that were either made for me or given to me that I was charged for excess baggage !! I use the word knives for my throwers but really they aren't as they have no blades on them just points, if they did you would tear your hands to pieces. So long as they are in your hold luggage you are fine. I did try to go through the Red Zone at Customs when I got back to Manchester, just to be sure, but there was nobody there so I just walked through the Green zone . I suppose they use the word impalement because that is what the audience think you might do. Happy throwing.
