I’ve heard great things about the delta 2.5-15 scopes, just wanted to check if anyone here has had one?

This is the link I have for optics warehouse - this is the right one ain’t it? Please tell me if there’s a newer model as knowing my luck recently I’ll buy an old naff model by mistake ?

Yes...had one for a year or so sat atop my main stalking rifle.  Very good scope for the money.  Central 80% image almost as good as some top European scopes but suffers from spherical and yellow chromatic aberration of the very edges of view...not an issue in reality.  4a dot is quite fine (7mm at 100 yds on 15x mag) and illumination is daylight adjustable down to a very fine dot.  Slight tunnelling at the 2.5 end.  Focus and illumination dial are very well made and have a very high quaity feel.  What lets it down is the fact it uses Bushnell's older typo elite turrets which you pull out to operate and so-say lock in place....they don't as they rely on an o-ring which quickly wears so they do need to be used with the turret caps in place, which should only be removed for dialling.

That aside, it remains one of the better low light stalking scope's I've used. To better is significantly you'll really have to spend twice as much.  It's worth checking out the Steiner Ranger 4-16 x 56 for similar money. It's a better scope and also held in stock at Optics warehouse. Better turrets and better edge definition.   Bizarrely, the range topping M5Xi from Steiner, which I also owned briefly, is not a patch on the cheaper Ranger scope.

Meopta I compared direct with the Delta (Meostar R2).  I was better made, without doubt but was also almost twice the price and the 4c ret centre was too thick for my liking being a whopping 1moa centre dot. No good for precision at all but probably fine for woodland stalking within 100yds.

I have two of these scopes, and really like them. The reticule is perfect for me, neither too thick nor too thin, great field of view and a good image at low light. I don't use the illumination much, but comes in handy every so often.

Works well with my night vision add on too.
