getthegat
Every thing has gone quiet around my perms. The odd few corvids, but not worth setting up for. Went to one of my nice little farms this morning, the manager told me it was or will be all maze this year. It was almost devoyed of birds at this time, do you think the corvids may find it in the near future, do they attack when seeds start sprouting out of the ground? Not had maze on any farm before, so a newbie to it.

getthegat
Wow, so all is not lost. I'll keep an eye on said field's then, with fingers crossed. This particular farm is great, as there is a lot of things changing, areas get let out for storage of farm machinery, or piles of tree cuttings, there's a car crash repair business, so the birds get use to odd things in hedges, so hide building can be a bit simplar, I've even parked up and shot whilst stood at the side of my truck. Longstrider
Rooks old and young will be all over a field of maize once the shoots are an inch or two high. They pull up the shoot to get at the seed, and will often work their way methodically along a row of drill to do so. They do the same thing with wheat when it first starts to grow too.
