Catamong
You could be shooting at Coke tins, it's still essential to have insurance. Join BASC or something similar, show the farmer the membership card, it may help you. Cat.

davo
It's not the law that you require insurance, its more of a peace of mind thing it also shows you as being sensible/responsible. Personally I wouldn't go shooting without it, I agree with catamong, it might help in gaining a permission.
DaveK
Shop around for insurance. I'm with BASC because of the firearms team but other bodies might be more appropriate for you and a damned sight cheaper for similar insurance cover. SNAKEBITE
Don't forget to leave your details with them, a buisness card printed up in a shopping mall is a good idea. £4 for 50 or something like that.

smokinbarrels
If your thinking about shooting in the sheffield/ Rotherham area you'll need some good quality wellies!!! Regards Q
scolopax
Rob, all of what you say is up for debate, but .".you try and put a clame in .. your be wasting your time " is complete rubbish. I get my BASC membership at a slightly lower rate through an affiliated club and have been happy with their service whenever I have needed it. I do know of people who have needed the protection of the third party insurance and the process has been smooth and the payments qickly recieved by the claimant.
