30-6 Posted June 25, 2018 Report Share Posted June 25, 2018 Bumped into the farmer where I was just about to try for rabbits ( I have never failed in the area ), and he commented he hadn't seen a rabbit for weeks. I had a walk around a couple of fields and indeed did not see any either. If it is vhd, will and how long does it take to get some more back in the area ? Walker570 Posted June 25, 2018 Report Share Posted June 25, 2018 I had a similar experience some 20 odd years ago when VHD was still rare. I had a field along a wood where I could guarantee shooting 50 in a night with the lamp. I took a friend up on the back of my ATV with a promise of some sport and like your experience there wasn't a rabbit to be seen. I made enquiries and contacted a scientist at Cambridge who was looking into VHD and he asked for a carcase but unfortunately unlike myxi you rarely see them as they die below ground.
