dunganick
Finally, as most of you know ive had now about 1.5yrs years of hell trying to get my howa to shoot straight, well finally ive got the gun shooting to an acceptable level, After glass bedding it, pillar bedding it, buying Fisters Timny trigger, and fitting that, having it off the manufactors as it wouldnt chamber handloads (handloads well within sami spec), now discovered that howa .223's have a tight chamber, and having adjusted my dies to allow, using 23.2 grains of 10x in a lapua case with cci primer, nosler 50grain bt seated 18ish thou off lands, it shot 3 groups inside 1/2 inch (all i had) and shot american eagle inside 1 inch if i did my part. This might not be sako or tikka accuracy but im over the blinking moon. I was planning to sell the gun if it didnt smarten its act up today and swap it in for a tikka t3, think maybe this threat has done the trick. So will be showing it off at bisley. I'm off to do some handloading and give the local wildlife hell Ive only been waiting 1.5 years to do this. here it is: (just like showing it off, and this is an old picture, the wood looks even better now )

dunganick
they represent **** value for money, buy a tikka t3 lite for £100 more and save an age of messing around with bedding etc... and runs up to bisley to try the results. However ive done so much to it i darent sell it. My rifle club just got a .223 howa in a light barrel today for the new club rifle, i just laughed. The guy who'm had purchased it on behalf of the club (rfd) did comment that his .223 handloads seemed to be very tight in it still, its all fun coblers, wish i had bought a proper gun, there would be alot less foxes around if i had
Frank
My experince. I bought a CZ .223, did **** all with it and have shot a hell of a lot of quarry . It has a set trigger that is lighter then light for range work, accuracy out of the box, digests most factory ammo within 1 inch, ect and is tough as hell. Nick, im glad eventually, you got your rifle sorted. Hoping to see some charlies soon. :o Frank.
deadeye ive
The Japs have got it wrong   ...........Not up to speed with this Nick but have you been in touch with Howa at source ?. Nowt worse than a rifle that won't shoot consistantly so I'm glad you got some good performance there even though it's been a long journey. I'll make a point now of not letting you shoot my M595 as I don't want it to upset your sleep pattern
Oly
Glad your getting there mate, big well done - you have more patience than me  I know a guy who loves them, fiddled one up to F Class standard...plus that stock is crackin', better than any T3 Synth anyday IMO!!
dunganick
yes gun went back to fox firearms (importer) brian was very helpful and basicalyl told me it cycled factory so wasnt a fault. On more investigation its got a tight chamber, actually used some brass stuartP sent me to proove this as i believe he has a tikka. This brass will not chamber in my gun. Its all sorted now, so ive just loaded 40 of the rounds i know work well. Then i can start fannying around with other loads to make it work even better
