The Heron
Further to my post about my Raffaello not cycling it turns out that the only cartridge that it will not cycle is the hull 32g 20 gauge I have used Gambore 34g nsi 32g and fiocchi 28g all without any problems but put hull in and straight away the problems start I have spoken to there tech guy who tells me that they should work without any problems but the proof is there they don't work. I am not knocking hull because they offer a very good range of cartridges but in this case they don't work.
The Burpster
Gambore and Hull won’t work in mine either.
Stonepark
Benelli states they need at least 1375ftlbs to cycle. (e.g. 1oz load doing 1200fps at the muzzle and I suspect they also omit they require a fast pulse from a fast powder, not a steady push caused by pushing a heavy load) A spring change to a slightly lighter recoil spring would likely solve the issue and I have done a mod on a previous owned old auto which also suffered cycling problems with lower power cartridges. Dropping the spring wire diameter by 0.2 to 0.3mm would probably work in your case as well, keeping coil no and over all length the same If they previously cycled fine, the guns need stripped and cleaned with white spirit, lubed with a moly/tungsten light oil and reassembled and fired. The Burpster
Mine has been resolved for about a year now. Lighter hammer and trigger spring (Tarran Tactical IIRC) a few polished edges and only using RC Romagnola 32gm loads. Works like a PSG now! Even with the mods there are some carts it still doesn’t like, Hull and GB are the two most notable. It must be something to do with polymer or diemensions of the cart.
