First blood with the new gun...

Hi Lad's...

After having some trouble with my mount over the weekend with my new gun... i thought i would go out roost-shooting after work today, to put the tips i have been given into practice...

It was about 6 o'clock wen i got up to the egde of the wood's which over look a large corn field with a boarder of woodland over three sides. I stood between the field and the woodland. I stood for about an hour watching pigeons flying from one side of the field to my side, just to far out of range to have a sensible shot. I had about 6 shots at pigeons which were hard as they were very fast and fairly high. I managed to shoot 1. I missed with the first shot, but stayed on it and pipped it with the second :lol:

I was chuffed with the outing as i managed to mount the gun well (No more smack's to the cheek :good: ) and have the first kill with my new gun ???

Iv added a pic should you be interested :lol: ;

Thanks,

Andrew.

Well done, you look the part!

Roost shooting I find you need to be well hidden almost to the point of not being able to see what's coming and stay very still, mind you were early for roosting :lol:

Thanks ???

I was told this was a little early for roosting, but i was itching to get with the gun and i can think of nothing better than sitting at the edge of a field in persuite of pigeon... so i thought i would go :lol: I stayed untill about 8.45 and watched a thunderstorm which seemed to skirt the field i was in, so i didnt get wet atall :good:

Thanks,

Andrew.
