greylag Posted November 4, 2018 Report Share Posted November 4, 2018 I have a lovely Cogswell and Harrison boxlock which I really enjoy using but have had trouble with the firing line failing.Three in the last couple of years.Is this a common problem and what would people advise me to do. Should read pins ,not line. i had my firing pins snap on my aya game guns..............took both of them in to a local gunsmith who i had known for many years (Frank...ex Darlows)....he said it was not uncommon and made 2 new sets...he said it was better for them to be a bit softer and wear ...than too hard and snap.....never ever had a problem since then.....i always check the end of my pins for doming and pitting....which i dont get cause my shooting is a lot less now............
