Stephen-H
Evening everyone could anyone recommend a good game keeping book that covers topics such as getting started, building pens , day to day jobs, feeding routines etc? Been beating on a few shoots now & would like to learn more about the keeping and day to day running side of a shoot . Cheers
hambone
The Game Conservancy booklets used to be helpful (but may be dated} and seem to be something of collectors prices judging by the quick search I just done. It might be worth looking for one of the game rearing ones or even better a modern copy. Best of luck finding a good book and keep us posted 👍

Foolofatook
Try " Advice from a Gamekeeper" by John Cowan. No technical stuff about crops etc but good down to earth advice for a beginner in the vocation. Look for it used on amazon or abe. 😉
Rossco89
Advice from a game keeper, your shoot and the gamekeeper. all decent books but don go into huge detail, there not instruction manuals, more like a reference or guide.
