smokinbarrels
Evening Gents, The good news: After a few weeks of looking for a bit of land to shoot pigeons i've managed to get my hands on some today .....The bad News: I've never been pigeon shooting before and i don't have any decoying equipment Should i give it a go with a bit of camo clothing or should i wait until i've got all the gear? The farmer said his land is thick with pigeons and rabbits and by the sound of things he wanted rid of them quickly. Cheers Q
Cranfield
Try to get some ex MOD cammo net and a few decoys, to give yourself a chance. It might be a good idea to show willing ASAP, by taking your gun and having a look round the land. Try to see where the birds are feeding, where they are coming from and sort out the flight lines. This will mean that when you do go with some equipment, you increase your chances of having a good day. You may end up doing a bit of bird scaring, but it shows the Farmer that you are about. henry d
Try and get underneath a flightline into the field and shoot a couple of birds, then use them where the birds are feeding, as decoys. At this time of year you may get away without a conventional hide by just sitting behind tall grasses, bushes etc. and if you sit still the birds won`t see you. Best of luck
