.223 A-max bullets

i was just talking to a freind about reloading,i was going to make a long journey to buy some v-max bullets,and he said why not use a-max he said they are almost identical,they fragment just the same,and you can order them over the phone.

whats your veiws on these are they ok for vermin shooting.

if i cant get the 50grn vmax, i will use the 52 grn amax, and the foxes cant tell the difference.

Bare in mind come renewal time, you may be asked why you need the gun as you have no expanding ammo purchases.

Just keep the shop receipts for the A Max as proof of purchases in case your feo queries it. There is no requirement to use expanding ammo on vermin. You will not lose the authority to purchase expanding if you don't buy any.

thanks for the advice,i thought A-max was for target shooting hence why you can order over the phone, they might have me over a barrel if they thought i was useing them for vermin control?.

As I said there is no reason you cant use them for vermin. You dont have to use expanding on vermin.

the a max used to be quoted on hornadys web site as suitable for 'thin skinned' game. And it certainly does expand.
