fac's

Shotgun, no question. You don't have to prove a need for a shotgun, although it is a good idea to know a bit about what you want it for. The police don't need to check the land to see if it's suitable. The certificate isn't the same for shotguns (SGC) as it is for rifles (FAC).

To get an FAC, you have to prove you need it. Unless you're a club member you'll need land to shoot over and it has to be inspected. If you get it for club use that doesn't mean you can get a farmers permission and shoot his land later, you have to apply for a change of use. Each calibre has to be asked for, and then the police decide if you can have it!

What do you want to shoot? Where do you want to shoot? There's no point getting the easy one if it's not what you really want or need!
