john faul
hi all i have just set up this poll please vote could any owners of any of the above rifles post me their opinions on their gun thanks!!
JohnGalway
Did you forget the Tikka Tactical John? I owned a Varmint stainless, didn't vote in the poll as I wouldn't buy another. The stock isn't great. It was ammunition fussy, I know there are other Varmints out there which are ammo fussy also. In Ireland you won't be allowed reload. You may find yourself between a rock and a hard place, I say may as I can only comment on the rifle I owned. Which is just one example. Eoin and Mark have Tacticals and seem happy with them. I would buy a rifle with a 1 in 12 twist if I were you as it'll allow you shoot more of the commonly available factory ammo in Ireland. Just my two cents, other opinions may well differ and be better informed!
tikkamark
You left out the super varmint stainless and the t3 tactical so didnt vote The tactical is a good rifle which comes factory threaded and pictcanny rail on top, adjustable cheekpiece, length spacers in the stock,6 round mag in .223 and has a totally different barrel than the varmint models which is not to heavy and is easy enough to carry long distance its a bit more expensive than the others but its a deadly rifle imo The super varmint is similar to tactical but in stainless and i dont think its threaded. JohnGalway
thanks john just added them to my list can you get thevarmint stainless in a 1:12 twist? was your varmint heavy? No, all Tikka .223's are 1 in 8 twist. Yes it'll be heavy, you'll know you're carrying it around. Specifications will be on the Tikka website here. Still I went and bought a heavier rifle in the VL SS, need my head tested.

john faul
bit of pity with the twist rate , i was out in my local gun shop and he had a ruger that looked a lot like yours it had the same wood in the stock but it wasnt a thumbhole it was in 223 and had a 26 inch heavy barrel very accurate rifle but awfully heavy would be doing much walking with it!!!!!
