ROB REYNOLDS UK
went for a scan about looking for pigeon on a field that had just been bailed the night before ,it had pigeon on it as they were bailing it, so it looked good for the late morning ..wrong ..it was far to warm by the time i had a look ,pigeon was gritting and hideing in the cool trees ,my mate was tap danceing waiting to go ,but i said dont worry there be there when it cools down later on today ,so at 2.30 in the afternoon we set off ,got there and set up the magnet and about 15 shells and two crows deeks and a hide for about 10 past 3 ..most of the pigeon were in the next field which we could go in but the woman next to the field had horses so to keep the peace we set up next too it ..put up a shot to get things moveing which it did it lifted the pigeon off the next field and some are way B) we were both sitting under seperate oak trees about 50 yrds apart with a round bale blocking are view from each other so as not to get shot ,best be on the safe side ,even though we were faceing away from one another ,after some time i was doing better than my mate on the shooting side of things ..well i am a better shot or was it i had the better hide after a short time i told my mate to go over to the other field and sit under the oak, as thats were all the pigeon were makeing for ,which he did it helped me out no end as soon as they were there he had his shot ,lucky for me he missed which sent the pigeon my way which soon died of lead poisoning either that or it was weighed down with so much lead it could not fly pigeon were landing in the tree that my mate had just left so i dropped a few as soon as they had landed did about 6 this way ,shot 2 crow that were coming over to have a nose at what the pigeon were eating hit the first crow with the first shot about 40 yrds out just above the tree ,hit the second one with the second shot but it was trying to make it away but i gave it the third shot in a second and that was dead in the air ..clay shooting at one clay then hitting the bits off the clay pays off in the pocket and to get usted to the follow up shot well im happy as i dont like crows any way im going on a bit here so i will tell you i got 6 pairs 7 if you count the crows dead in the air thats my best to date and all in a few hrs ,so it does pay to sit back and wait ..ended picking up 31 pigeon and two well dead crows seen a few crash landing in to the trees and hedges so i must of shot 40 easy ,my mate come back with two pigeon :yp: i said he is not the best shot but he trys bless him ..back in the house for 1/4 to 6 pics of me phone
