Great day training

Had a real good session today with Jaz.

Was out shooting earlier today but only bagged 3 birds......Very slow day with nothing about......So I decided to keep them for training.

Jas has a tendancy of running off with "cold" game...........SO I thought that we would be in for fun and games.

However....we entered the field and had him running off for his ball.....couple of dummy chucks...........couple of dummy finds.

Had him staying, not moving at all when I went to "hide" the dummy in some long grass and he was away and in to it without problems.

Switched to the "stockinged" bird and after his "lap of honour" he was bringing them back for me.........finding "hidden" birds and being a good alround dog........

Well happy...................

Hes just loving it................

Another fantastic session today.........just getting better and better............

Ahhh what a difference 4 days makes.........................

Having a "testing" time this week...............Today he wouldnt bring anything back.....would chase...........but finds it.......and just comes back............Leaving it exactly where he found it...

Swap from balls, to dummy, back to balls.....still not much of a change..........AHh well.............step back and take it easy with small chucks methinks

Must have the hump with me for shouting at him before........

Lancs try him with Tennis Ball Dummies found here

I find them great for dogs that are not too keen on canvas dummies!

Plus limit the number of retrieves you give him so he doesn't get bored with it.

If he will sit to the thrown dummy walk out and pick a few yourself, when you do send him you will find he will be keen to fetch it.

Cheers

Hi MS..................Hes been picking up the dummies from more or less day one. I start him of with tennis balls when we get onto the field after he has had his "run around".....just give em a chuck and tell him GO GET EM.............

Then get him to stay and chuck...send him off and we then swap to the dummy....

Seems keen to "hunt" for the dummy when I walk and hide it.....

Will have to do some "picking up" myself over the next couple of days....He gets loads of attention when he comes back and we have a "play" etc etc.....

Sure he will be back on it on the next session or two...........If not...then I may need some help...........
