I am seriously thinking of getting rid of mine because I am fed up with it. I can’t seem to get used to it and it is a bloody pain adding all that weight to the front of a lovely lightweight Tikka. I have never liked it much and if anyone can use it they can have it for @ £90. Not too fussed about a quick payment and anyone who is interested can try it for a couple of weeks before deciding if they want to pay me or give it back. G.M. Oh forgot, it has .223Rem and .243Win proof marks on it. It also has .243Rem proof marks on it and I had to take it back to Birmingham proof house to get them to re-mark it with .243Win because they had put Rem by mistake. Eejits. I omitted to say it’s a ½inch UNEF so unless your rifle is cut for this thread it won’t be any use to you. I will see what Tulkyuk wants to do first though. G.M. The farmers sister was waiting for me when I went back to the car and told me that the people in the houses had phoned her to complain about the “Huge boom†that they heard @ 10.30pm. I was a bit taken aback because I had only fired one shot (mind you it is bloody loud), but it appears it upset the normally placid locals. It seems I will be required to use a moderator all the time on the .243, so it means I will have to keep it. Please accept my apologies lads but the sale can’t go ahead. pikey Posted August 12, 2007 Report Share Posted August 12, 2007 yer well thats right graham,i fired my 222-50 once only without a moderator on and they do make quite abit of noise,so off i went to the gunsmith an had a moderator fitted i know there not cheap but at the end of the day you keep the local's happy,you dont have the flip,your more accurate,and best of all you dont get deafened with your rifle,thank for letting us all know.*****.
