pantheman
Hello all, advice please, i'm after a cocker spaniel, but there seems to be different varieties of the same breed. I like the chocolate version as shown in picture cocker2, but the other picture cocker1 seems to be what cockers mostly look like. Confused Could someone shed some light on this please ? v-max
Hello the 1 on the left look's like a working cocker & the other a show. You would be best looking the add's in shooting mag's/paper etc for working cocker's the colour you want & go see or try kennel-club puppy sale's register in your area. ROBLATCH
hi there i own&breed working cockers.the top one is almost certainlyb a working cocker and could almost guarantee the other is show type. at the first stage of working strain you would find that they both looked the same but due to the line breeding of working cockers they loss the original cocker looks-features such as the long bulky nose and the heavy fat looks. hope this helps rob
pantheman
Hello all, many thanks for your input. It is now clearer to me. I am looking for a working cocker. My mates in the UK have these and they are great when we are out. My problem is i am now living abroad for the mo and finding a working cocker is gonna be a problem. I am due to come to the UK in Nov for the shooting season, does anyone know the detail regarding getting a pup from the UK to bring back with me ?? ie, i guess it will need a pet passport, chipped, but may need to be of a certain age etc etc. Any additional advice would be most welcome.
