CaptC
Bowie knife (style) with 6" blade and an overall length of just over 11". The knife arrived covered in paint and with an old surgical sticky bandage over the hilt. Gently cleaned to find no makers mark. The handle has a copper bolster with a brass insert which holds the blade. I have never seen one with a copper bolster before. The hilt is compressed leather with brass and steel spacers (there is a chip on the bottom spacer which might be horn?) The spine is worn - looks to have been used for babging in tent pegs but again repairable. The swage is ok as is the point. Heavy blade (weighs 300 grams in total) and is nicely balanced in the hand. Obvious signs of use but with some TLC the knife would make a cracking work tool. No scabbard. £35 posted thanks Edited June 9, 2020 by CaptC
