Cranfield
I have been away fishing for a week and returned late on Saturday. Like a lot of people I have more than one email address, but on my most public email address I had 4987 emails waiting, all of them Spam. Fortunately, I have Mailwasher installed and it took care of them for me. Email Spam is like cold calling on the telephone, I don't know anyone that has ever responded favourable to a cold sales telephone call. Likewise, surely nobody ever answers Spam adverts, but somebody must do, or they wouldn't keep sending them out.
pin
Last numbers I saw were 0.03% responding and less than 30% conversion from the response to a purchase. Send out 10 million spam emails (at almost zero cost to you) and that's 1200 purchases. Ratio wise very inefficient, cost wise, very good sense. garyb
A lot of the links in the body of the email are so called "Pay per click" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pay_per_click
