fatchap
My new Wolf compressor is not right, Despite following the instructions to the letter, filled it with oil to the red dot. Removed all transport screws and plugs. Turned it on and away it went, pirouetted across the floor accompanied by a noise similar to a V8 engine with a blown exhaust and the big end bearings in bits. After I had caught up with it and switched it off I noticed the oil level had dropped, so returned it to its original position, and refilled the oil to the red dot. And back on with the power, This time it went for a sort of Fox Trot and the same noise. Am I missing something here, I doubt it is supposed to to do that. or make that noise. The air filter is in place. I did notice that despite the noise and the audition for Strickly come dancing it is pressurising, the gauge is moving so it is doing something right. Any ideas? or send it back?

ditchman
if you have done everything according to the manuel send it back..............just check the instructions to see if they say anything about removing a transport retaining strap...(its to stop the rubber mountings getting damaged in transit)
fatchap
I have removed all the transport fitting as per the instructions, to be honest I'm a bit reluctant to try it again, I will see if it behaves tomorrow, if not its going back.
