figgy
Having just watched this program from Fieldsports Britain, it should help dispell some myths on steel shot. The wads were what interested myself, the Eley ecowad and the Gamebore biowad both failed to open out on leaving the barrel. Jason Doyle then compared them pulling the petals apart snapping the little bits that hold the top of the petals together. He thought this was better than paper shot cup that fully opened out and was breaking up, I wish on such a program they were better educated as many will way h and think shot cups are simply to stay as an unopened cup. Shearwater
I get confused and will try and track down the program you watched online somewhere ( unless you have a link? ), I've read the verbiage from manufacturers and find it overwhelming so work on the basis if the cart works for me, my gun and my chokes then I stay with it. When I've seen the newest range bio/eco carts more widely used with no complaints then I'll change to whichever is the winner. I've had fantastic clean kills with https://www.eleyhawkltd.com/products/game-cartridges/pigeon-high-velocity and https://gamebore.com/uk/cartridge/game/12g-super-steel-game I was on my first shoot of the season last week and expected both the new Eley/Gamebore to be used but no no, all of the 10 guns stayed with their normal choice of cart and the status of the gentlemen shooting cost wouldn't have been a factor; interesting I thought
