Legalities on private number plate transfer
Shearwater replied to Shearwater's topic in Motoring Section
It does, but then again it doesn't. . . read on Below are 2 Gov websites. You can read on the 1st one that assigning a private plate has the caveat sentence which states. . . # A vehicle must have been taxed or had a SORN in place continuously for the past 5 years How would you know if the car has been taxed 100% before you bought it, a lot of cars have been bought and sold privately and may have been sitting in a garage or on private land untaxed? The reason I ask is if I were to check any car reg number on the 2nd site it would tell me if it is taxed / Untaxed but it wouldn't tell me if the tax has been in place 'continuously' https://www.gov.uk/personalised-vehicle-registration-numbers/keep-or-assign https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-tax -
Legalities on private number plate transfer

Thanks for your comments and it seems you read it better than I did, I lost a private plate years for being younger and trusting. DVLA to answer the phone, now there is a confusing statement at the moment. I'll strive onwards to find out more and really appreciate your input -
Hi all I read on the Gov's website that assigning a private plate has the caveat sentence which states. . . # The vehicle must have been taxed or had a SORN in place continuously for the past 5 years How would you know if the car has a 100% history for 5 years before you bought it, a lot of our kind of 4x4's / pick-ups etc have spent some of their life only on private land untaxed / without MOT's? The reason I ask is if I were to check a car registration number online it would tell me if it is taxed / Untaxed but it wouldn't tell me if the tax or SORN has been in place 'continuously' Thanks in advance

Keep them close these days mate, add as much security as you can afford; maybe an attack dog on a chain in front of kennel might do it

Appreciated reading your comments/suggestions and will have a go. . . . what could possibly go wrong!

Honda CRV, 2x Labs, removed very seldom to be honest, no budget really but say all in £80-£100 and would expect a few years out of it, I don't keep all the bits in stock as usually just buy what I need as and when I would agree, it's the prices that are off-putting That looks about right, cheers May I ask, what kind of metal crate ( one from petsRus or the likes ) ?

How difficult is it to make a car box? Can anyone give me the heads up of timber choice and how to go about making a box/door for the boot please ( 2 labs )? I'm no joiner but would like to have a go as to purchase one seems to be fortunes Thanks in advance lads

Interesting comment because I've never had much luck with No 4's but do kill well with 32grsm of 3's and use 1/4 and improved. I was very impressed with the RC so might get a slab to finish this week off.

Hi all Some time ago someone on here suggested a good cart was RC SIPE 32/5's for longer range birds, all I can say about them is they killed very well and barrels stayed perfectly clean; thank you whoever mentioned it. This brings me onto a further question. . . . who has/does use RC steel on ducks?

We go out in 2's locally similar to above comments

Merino socks, a pair of those thin inner booties, then whatever welly she wants. . . . the trick is the '2' inner layers

Remember, every insurance schedule covers you for everything, however, sometimes you find your covered for nothing
-
What would you class as the best quality English #7 / #7.5 ?
-
Eley HV pigeon 32grms of 6's work well if that helps, I sometimes use RC SIPE 32grms/5's and don't recall them being expensive TBH but then again, I'm always excited in a gunshop

It may not have much time left on it as they are all becoming obsolete, every broadcaster/supplier moving to internet based as it makes their lives easier
-
Yes, needs card, readily available on Ebay for a few quid, the more expensive ones will give him the 'local' variations of things like BBC news
-
All the very best and good luck PS. Hope it Pussers rum?
