BSA Shaun
Was out after a few bunnies last night with Catroofel, at a stables. Had informed the owner we would be there from about 5.30pm and she informed the horse owners so that they knew what was going on, anyway: Arrived nice and early, around 5.30pm and set up a pretty decent hide, using the natural cover and some old netting. Also ut out a maggie decoy, for 2 reasons, 1 - to get any maggies in the area and 2 - to give anything else about a bit of a false sense of security. Well after the hard work of setting up the hide, checking ranges and having a good look about, we settled down and kept quiet to wait for said bunnies. A couple of them start to venture from the hedgerow and we both gave a knowing nod to each other, looked like we were well and truly in for a good night. Lining up the S400 when a black lab appears from nowhere and proceeds to patrol every inch of the hedgerow putting our bunnies well and truly away! Unable to speak due to shock, I looked around for the owner to see some what can only be described as ****, paying absolutely no attention to the lab. Now as I said before all owners were fully aware that shooting of the bunnies was happening yet matey did not seem to care a damn as long as little Petunia could ride her pony for 5 mins or so. A quick glance at him again soon confirmed that he probably thought the countryside was the edging around the UK where it meets the water, and that he obviously bought the pony for little Petunia to ride every once in a blue moon. Angered by this and resisting the temptation to introduce him to my knuckles we settled back down and waited for them to leave which they did a while later. Eventually a few bunnies started turning back up. Rob got one in range and fired, it dropped like a stone, in the excitement he took his eyes off it to watch me seeimingly dispatch one of its mates. I hit it square in the head and it flopped to the earth - dead I thought- then it proceeded to get up and run away Cover now being blown we went to collect Rob's quarry, only for that to have disappeared too! Both headshots, both got away - so far not very pleasing. As we decided that it wasn't to be our night we started to walk to the deek to collect it, I saw a bunny sat in the field and fired, dropped again, this time no movement, stone dead. Upon collection shot was seen to be right betwen the eye and the ear. One for the pot I thought, but not to be as this one was showing signs of mixy. Again not our night. We packed up and started to walk back to the car only to be shadowed by a bat that can only be described as a complete monster! I kid you not we are talking blackbird size! Amazed by this we had a laugh all the way back to the car. So not a bad night after all!

monkeyjaimz
Good story mate, bad luck with the moron and his lab though. I have a guy on my main permission who seems to watch for me arriving and zeroing up, then take his rather unruly lab for a walk all over the place (including private land) putting the ra's well and truly in for a while. Not so bad now i've got my lamping rig though
