Whats your view on a Bushnell 6-18*50 for an HMR.. is it up to the job?

I love my 3200 elite 5-15 on my HMR. Clear scope, well made. I wasn't thrilled with the banners. They were a bit dark for me. Maybe the 50mm will help since what I saw were 40.

 

In that price range, you're better off keeping your eyes open for a used scope in a higher end model. I think the Simmons Aetec were just on sale around there. Don't forget to check ebay. Sometimes you can get a decent bargain.

My ticket has just gone off to have the HMR and .223 put on it, so I want to get the scope ASAP, just to spread the cost a little

I will keep an eye out for a second hand one,

 

in the mean time, anyone else used/tried the bushnell?

The banners are not very good at low light, even with the 50mm lens... if you're looking for a Bushnell then you would be better looking for the the elite range...or if funds don't stretch to that, you would do a lot worse than the Legend 5-15x40 they crop up quite often 2nd hand on BBS for around a ton

 

There is also a Simmons 44 mag on the BBS for sale the 6.5-20 model for £150.

 

Failing that have a look at the MTC Viper range... good clear optics
