morning all as my job as a lorry driver going all over the country as any one lost there favourite permission due to the building of retail parks or houseing estates ,in my area it was fosse park /thorpe ashley estates. resulting in the loss of rabbiting /pigeon flightlines and is the sport under more pressure from developers than anti s :o :good:

Yup - thats a sign of the times Ben - population explosion. I lost a 200 acres field a couple of weeks ago to what I think is "setting up for development" with a new buyer who has never farmed before, and another few acres somewhere else is also "under orders" from a fairly local estate builder. I still have places to shoot but they are at risk of being overshot at the moment because I stand aside from others during the pheasant season.

It's also hard sometimes knowing how much to leave for another day and to breed. I write on my agreements that my intention is to control them rather than eradicate them - but one told me a few weeks ago that he'd wanted them gone and had not noticed that part of the agreement. I went and had a darn good clear up - but thats even less shooting for me now, not that I could blame him as I found there was a lot more crop damage than I had noticed at first :good:

I have lost a few to housing developments and the owner died on another couple, but I just go out and get more, plenty of it out there if you ask properly.

and more importantly dont take the **** by leaving a breeding stock, the farmers want them all gone be it rabbits or pigeons.
