pin
If this is XP, check to the bottom right of the screen, where all the small icons are next to the date and time. You should see outside of the box where those are, to the left, a small blue box with "EN" in it. If you don't see the box right click on a blank bit of the toolbar, choose toolbars and select language. It will then be shown, if there isn't an "EN" in white inside the small blue box, click on it and select "English (United Kingdom)" If that isn't there as a choice, you don't have the English keyboard layout loaded which means go back to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Regional and Language Make sure under the "Regional Options" tab you have "English (United Kingdom)" selected. Click the advanced tab and again make sure you have "English (United Kingdom)" selected. Click apply, ok and let it reboot if it wants to (if it had to install the files it might because windows is gaylordian All this assumes you have a "UK" layout keyboard where the @ symbol has the :; key to the left and the ~# key to the right. If not you might have a US keyboard in which case you would need to substitute "English (united states) above wherever I said English (United Kingdom). There isn't anything else it can be
Graham M
My wife had this problem with her XP. We did all the “UKâ€/â€US†thingy but it still didn’t change. She did it a few times and then one day it swapped over. Computers…………….aaaggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh G.M.
