starlight32
I was decoying with a 16 bore today. A nice 26" spanish sbs ejector. # I was well struck on it, as I have never used one before. Had a general decoying day and I felt I did'nt suffer on my kill rate at all compared to using a 12g which I do normally. Anyone else use one on a regular basis? I like mine, ideal pigeon gun in my book. See my sig for details. I have owned it for over 20 years and still enjoy using it. It has also done driven game with no worries. Jerry What sort of price are the cartridges? To get an idea have a look at the Just Cartridges website but 28gr loads are around £6 for 25, there is a good selection of loads for 16 bore. http://www.justcartridges.com/price.html Jerry

Floating Chamber
hi i might sound like a comlete rookie but whats the diffrence between a 16 boar n a 12 boar i shoot 12's all the time so whats diffrent? LM Are you taking the mick? I'll buy it. A 16 bore shell is smaller (thinner) than a 12 bore. They are fired in a 16 bore gun. The gun is about 1.5 millimetres less in diameter than a 12 bore. The next size after this is a 20 bore, then a 24 bore and then a 28 bore which is a little fatter than a .410. All but the .410 relate to the number of lead balls that make up one pound or 7000 grains. So, a 16 bore 'ball' would weigh one ounce (437.5 grains or 28.4 grams) and a 12 bore lead ball would weigh 1.33 ounces. The diameter of a 12 bore 'ball' is 0.729" and this becomes the (nominal) 'size' or 'bore' of the 12 gauge. I hope this has helped.
