Dave at kelton
Advice please. Just refinishing a set of pine oars. The varnish was badly flaked so stripped and sanded. Should I refinish with yacht varnish or will Danish Oil do the job. They aren’t going to get a lot of use. Thanks
ditchman
i find Danish oil is better when put on in many thin coats.with a lindt free cloth...my table is glassy hard and smooth........using yaght varnish is quick and easy.....cut it back for the first 2 coats 50% first coat.....25% second coat ...full strength last coat with a soft laquer brush if you want a quick fix ...slop it on and leave it to dry for 3 days....
