starlight32 Posted September 24, 2007 Report Share Posted September 24, 2007 If you are making pigeon shooting gear or for the majority of what you do at home an arc set is no good. You need a mig or if you can stretch to it and providing you can use a Tig set. The material thicknesses you are likely to want to weld are too thin for MMA, and you will find the cheap arc sets will trip out on thermal overload very quickly after only a few minutes welding.
