HantsRob
So the PCC for Hampshire may have her political agenda to show how Hampshire are leading/helping a review from the horrific dealings in Plymouth. She has paid for that advertisement and it’s good to read she thinks Hampshire is a gold standard and other forces could learn etc, rather than discussing how changes are required or tightening/restricting more. Her replies to comments seem to reflect the same and I think it’s good that it’s pragmatic and positive for the shooting community, whilst addressing issues in other county forces that don’t have a mandatory gp letter for example. It’s good the focus is shotcomings of other county forces rather than a focus on gun owners. Am I too naive to think this is a great news story? I appreciate she’s getting kudos for the constabularly she works with, but it appears to be a really neutral positive post that is pragmatically dealing with mitigating future risk, rather than penalising the wider shooting community. Walker570
Yes, positive against the present lawful upstanding fully in control of their actions gun owners being shafted again with more restrictions. In no way does her comments point out the total dismal failure of the Devon and Cornewall police in the issuing of some graphically obvious unsuitable person, to have any sort of firearm. If any of PW members made such a graphic mistake in their jobs they would have been sacked. Unfortunately the Afgan affair washed the Plymouth story under the carpet and I bet the CC was rubbing his hands in glee.
