HAMMY
We had two sightings on the Estate 20,00 acres, that we lease 1200acres on last week. And whilst up last night I sighted the first on our shoot (no gun with me) . We have a healthy population of Reds so we must do our utmost to thwart the Greys. What is the best method of trapping? And what is the best baits, I'm thinking tunnel traps etc, but have no experience killing these critters as we have never had them before. thx Hammy
webber
Contact rsrjerry by PM. He is a full time red squirrel ranger, and knows all the dodges, but I guess that live catch cage traps will be required if you have reds around. webber
dusk2dawn
Ive used live catch traps to catch squirrels loads in woodland and i normally bait them with bounty bars. One half of a bounty should do 3 traps. i put a tiny bit in the doorway and a bigger bit behind the plate. I also found i had to put something in the entrace because i kept catching pheasants. But as said rsrjerry seems the chap to speak to. But do you suck the chocolate off first? What a waste of Bounty bars yum!! D2D
