30-6
A few members asked how I am getting on with my new HIK 19 mm thermal spotter. Fitted my budget and am happy with it, but as reviewers state you have to remember it is a thermal and not a HD camera giving a crisp picture. Can easily spot a fox at 100 yds plus which suits me and my needs. The only frustrating use of it is it drops off in quality when the air is damp and moisture laden, but this is the same in all of them, although better specifications ones cope with this better I have read. Very ergonomically thought out making it very comfortable to use. Able to take pics and video, magnify, 4 colour palettes, and pretty straightforward menu for us oldies. All in all would I recommend it, yes, as long as you accept its an entry level model and understand its limitations. I haven't used it in the day, but it opens up a new look at night time forays. From birds roosting, in trees and on the fields, mice on the banks and caught a rat on my friends bird feeder.
Dave-G
Brief but succinct, I'm sure that helps many thermal virgins.
