jimbogriff Posted May 1, 2004 Report Share Posted May 1, 2004 Help , last nite i was cutting the grass with our John Deere LTR 166, i cut the sloping part of the lawn , then proceded to cut the remaining flat grass , i stopped halfg way through , when i restarted it well , it didnt , the solinoid just clicked , i thought is was a weak battery so tryed to jump start it . the engine will still not turn , any ideas as to whats has caused this , thanks jimbo . p.s it still didnt turn over this morning from cold . barrie0 Posted May 1, 2004 Report Share Posted May 1, 2004 If solenoid still clicks with a jump/fresh battery then it will be your starter motor(hit it on the solenoid with something heavy,as they sometimes stick) ,over the years the biggest problem with ride on mowers that i have used and not started are down to the safety switches being dirty or sticking ,sometimes just had to bypass them(the two wires going into the switch ,just connect them to each other) .
