Minky
At the mo ive got some loaded up with - 14grams of A1. It isn't the most efficient load but it shoots well and burns clean. I could finish off the amount of powder that I have and make up another batch or change to another powder and use the powder on something that would suit its characteristics better. I have a lot of different powders available such as green dot, unique, clays, universal etc, etc. There are the company lists to follow but it's interesting to see what people load and experience. What I am looking for is a sort of traditional load which uses a small powder charge, burns efficiently, kills well and has a low recoil. Not really asking much. Minky
Nahh I'm writing daft. I intended 14 Grains not grams. They shoot very well with a clean burn but I want to reload a new batch and I've got enough powder to do another batch BUT I don't think that it is the most efficient use of the powder. I've got LOTS of different ones and wondered what other reloaders used and found to be a good combination. I don't have Either the csb3 or 5 though. looking at the Alliant reload data is very confusing because on one hand the components that they list are not readily available here and the people on shotgun world say that the load of 14 gn of green dot has been discontinued by Alliant because it was too hot with over salami pressures and splitting insert tubes. yet the online Alliant loadings are way way higher on the 7/8 load. they are sort of up around 17 gn so work that lot out along with all of the different hulls. Is there a straight forward list of tables for hulls such as Cheddite, Fiocchl etc. or which are compatible types. I have used Alliants contact us page but no response. so any advice is welcome and will be considered.
