Collar

Has anyone had any experience of these "half check collars" ?

Unlike the conventional "half check" collars, on the one in the picture the buckle undoes, especially for dogs with big heads, or broad faces.

I saw a police dog with one on and that started me looking around.

At the moment Bramble has one leather collar for normal wear, but I use a check collar when we are out, which makes controlling 6 stone of eager hound much easier.

Cranners,

That collar will work similar to a choke chain, but will have non of the hashness. The nice thing is it will work around the entire neck and not just one place. The majors thing that I would be looking for in that particular collar is a good solid steel buckle, D ring, stitching and leather. I think that it would look very good on Bramble.

i have used them for the first time ,and for puppys/young dogs , they do not have the "harshness" of a full choke chain but retain full control of the dog ,....... your on the right path with em mate and is a usefull item in dog training
