Vintage Gun Box

Vintage mahogany gun box, originally thought to have been a box for muzzle loader about 1850 but now fitted out for a 16 bore side by side shotgun with 30" barrels. When the top was stripped it reveled a name of W H C Mansfield of Shropshire light infantry in lid. He was one of the first RFC pilots, and credited with one being observer in plane with first claimed victory against a German plane.

This would be to heavy to post so collection only
