chrisjpainter
Has anyone made one? If so what strength magnets did you go for? I'm finding it tough to work out how strong they'd need to be in order to have enough force to work through the wood. Many thanks
Stonepark
Not made one but have handled a couple, they appear to be reamed out in back so only circa 2 mm to 3mm of wood is present to the front, they then have 4mm thick, 40mm x 10mm N52 neobydium bar magnets in back. I tried a 48mm diameter and 5mm thick n35 round magnet (larger area and weaker magnet) through 2.5mm of folded paper (simulated wood) and it held my Nessmuk (260g), most kitchen knives should be considerably lighter. Possibly order 1 magnet and experiment before ordering enough to stretch length of the wood? Edited January 25, 2023 by Stonepark
